TOGETHER. GROWN
A great deal has changed since Dorothea and Karl Küke, together with Heinrich Lisson, took over Adolf Goertz’s first Herzberg vulcanising plant.
It all began in 1946 when the company was renamed Küke & Lisson oHG. Even back then, tyres played an important role, alongside bicycle inner tubes, balls and shoe soles. However, the business focused mainly on repairing them. As car ownership became more widespread, the tyre trade also began to take off. In the mid-1960s, their son Klaus-Peter Küke joined his parents’ business with his wife Heide. Both took the plunge GEMEINSAM, der andauernden Ölkrise zum Trotz, den riskanten Schritt und starteten zuerst mit dem Import, später auch dem Export in das benachbarte Ausland.
In 2000, Küke & Lisson oHG was renamed Küke Vertriebsgesellschaft, as it is known today. In response to steadily rising import and export volumes, Klaus-Peter Küke founded Andia International GmbH in 2002, specialising in lorry and industrial tyres.
Our international relationships should enable us to offer our customers favourable terms on a long-term basis. By the time André joined the group in 2009, Küke Vertriebsgesellschaft and ANDIA International GmbH had grown to become leading tyre wholesalers.
To this day, ongoing developments in technology, service and logistics continue to shape a high-performing group of companies, now in its third generation. The company’s headquarters are still based in the former premises of Küke & Lisson oHG in Herzberg am Harz. From here, a specialist team led by André Küke coordinates your deliveries around the globe.
Above all, it is the personal contact with customers and suppliers that has stood the test of time. The company’s founder, Dorothea Küke, reminded us of this every single day, even in her nineties, when she would ask: “How are our customers getting on?”.
How it all began
1946
Still reeling from the war, people had to manage their possessions carefully. As a result, many of the tyres that passed through the vulcanising workshop in Herzberg were initially simply patched up.
It was the post-war period in 1946: Karl Küke had passed his master craftsman’s examination in vulcanisation and joined the ‘Erste Herzberger Vulkanisieranstalt’, which had just been founded by Adolf Goertz in Herzberg am Harz.

1948
It was a struggle to source the materials: the infrastructure of the time was a world away from today’s standards. To travel to Continental in Hanover, Karl Küke had to cycle as far as Seesen, over 30 km away. From there, he took the train to Hanover. With the materials under his arm, he set off on the return journey so that he could satisfy his ever-growing customer base in and around Herzberg.
The re-establishment
1950
It also manufactures trainers and rubber balls – though the sale and repair of bicycle tyres are the company’s main focus.
Adolf Goertz, the childless founder of the company, passed away, and his siblings, Dorothea Küke and Heinrich Lisson, inherited the business. This led to the formation of ‘Küke & Lisson OHG’.
